Across: 52
Down: 20
Fabric:
In the photo for this chart, black 7-ct fabric was used with Rainbow
Gallery gold metallic for the letters, #5 green pearl cotton for the
leaves; and red "pony" beads for the berries.
Substitute French knots for Colonial Knots
or beads for the berries.
|
When
choosing stitching fibers, take the background fabric into consideration.
On Red fabric: Stitch gold holly leaves with deep green letters; white letters.
On dark colors or medium
neutrals: Stitch gold letters and green leaves.
Determine the number of
strands or weight of your stitching fiber depending on the fabric
"count."
You have so many choices!
We have used 7-ct to 50-ct for lots of projects:
Linen
inserts for Christmas dresses
Lots of pillows
Banners for our door decorations
Cuffs for stockings
And much more!
|
You can stitch with any shade of
green, red and gold. Home decor and fashion trends have clearly (and
forever!) broadened the concept of “Christmas red” to include
everything from Victorian mauve to colonial burgundy and “Christmas
green” from hunter green to deep shades of olive. Have fun and do what
pleases you!
Timid about color? Go to your
favorite Christmas cross stitch project and use the colors called for in that
chart!
