"When I was a little girl, I dreamed of my
wedding, and when I married, that's exactly what I got."

The future is bright for this young couple, wed on a
beautiful autumn day just two years ago. They built a solid foundation
during their courtship which served them well as they planned their
wedding -- for most couples a source of stress and conflict.
Meet Kristin and Darren Redfield of Winston-Salem, North Carolina who
happily share their insight for wedding bliss. I have known Kristin since
she was a freshman at Salem Academy. In fact, I remember the exact moment
I met her. |
|
Perhaps I remember it so well because we met in the
basement of the Salem Academy & College Fine Arts building during a
particularly vicious tornado -- one that put us without water, electricity, or
telephone --and no cell phone either-- for two weeks! But it is just as
likely that Kristin would have impressed me regardless of when and where
we met. She projected a maturity and what I call "groundedness"
that many women twice her age still seek. |

As her friendship with my daughter, Catherine
(above, as Maid-of-Honor) blossomed, I watched her move gracefully from
teenage to adulthood. So, I wasn't surprised to find myself leaving her
wedding with the distinct impression that I had just attended the best
wedding ceremony I had ever attended. And that feeling is as strong
today as it was in September of 1998. I'd like to tell you just how she
pulled off the perfect wedding!
