Second Band: Whitework |
This is a pulled thread technique based on the satin stitch. I've started a Stitch Primer with general tips about pulled thread. You will benefit by reading this before you begin. Work this band in two steps. For the first step, work left-to-right across the band, then work right-to-left in the second step. Learn the specifics about the second band by reading the whitework satin stitch how-to instructions. The stitch diagram fits within the blank box on the chart. This band will line up exactly under the first cross stitch band, with two threads in between. NOTE: for perfect symmetry, you will make three stitches in the beginning section, seven stitches in the center section, and three stitches in the last section. All other sections are made up of sets of six stitches. NOTE: Lines on the stitch diagram represent linen threads, not the usual squares on a chart. For an Aida substitute, click HERE. |

| Overall, this band sampler will be: 36 Stitches Wide 63 Stitches High If you need to refer back to the first band, click HERE. |
