| I'm showing the back of the fabric first to give you an idea of how to anchor your floss and how to move from one flower to the next. Use the loop starting method to reduce bulk. As you finish each single cross stitch, flip your fabric over and slip your threaded needle under the upright part of that cross stitch and then under a few of the backstitches. | ![]() |
| So, the first trip across, just stitch the medium mauve stitch for each flower. Follow with a trip across for the two light mauve stitches for each flower. Then make the last trip for the pale mauve cross stitch to complete each flower. | ![]() |
| Each time you stitch across, remember to flip your fabric over and slip your threaded needle under existing stitches. Try to use different places to slip under. In this photo, the stitcher (me!) did a much better job on the left side than the right side. See how the three shades of mauve are clearly anchored in different places? This reduces bulk which can be the ruination of your project and is rarely noticed until after the piece is framed! | ![]() |

| The delicate shading is hard to see on this photo but it will look exquisite on your work! | ![]() |
